SUMMARY:All Things New - Spring Choral Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Milligan vocal ensembles will close the academic year with a program of contemporary music on themes of hope and light. The concert will open with the a cappella ensemble Heritage performing favorites from their repertoire of sacred pieces. Milligan鈥檚 Concert Choir will follow with several selections\, culminating with the first extended work by the contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg called 鈥淚lluminare.鈥� According to the composer\, this piece uses sacred Latin\, Greek\, and English texts to take listeners on a journey 鈥渢hrough a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns\, hope is restored\, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace.鈥�
